so where did I leave off? I feel like last blog I was just rambling.. i'll start with Friday! :)
Friday morning, Hannah and I went to morning prayer together (7:30am in the Sacred Heart Chapel, so great!) and then we worked out (surprise, i know!.. me working out?) and then we were hot and sweaty and stinky so we decided to do what pretty much everyone here at the Gaming Campus has already done.. we jumped into the creek! It's a cute little creek that runs parallel to the Kartause that is very shallow like a normal creek at points, but at one point is like 6 or so feet deep?.. and everyone does it, it's FREEEEZING! and so, at 9am, Hannah and I jumped.. it was probably the coolest but scariest feeling i've had in awhile.. it was so fun but my body was like in shock from the temperature difference and I had a hard time moving my limbs to climb out hahah Let's just say that Hannah wasn't too excited about jumping in after my face of shock came out of the water! :) After that I had my 2nd day of classes and we went to Ur's (the local pub) at night time.. it was a nice day!
Yesterday, we left for Vienna at 7:30.. it was so fabulous. We did a bunch of cool stuff that I really can't remember hahah but the pictures may help trigger my memory! :) We had mass as soon as we got there and toured two or three more churches? which was pretty neat! We pretty much just walked around and toured Vienna.. which was kind of boring.. UNTIL! me, the WWII junkie I am, stumbled upon the place where Hitler took over Austria and adressed a HUGE crowd, full of Hitler's groupies and distraught Austrians ona balcony.. and I got to see it. You could just imagine the people that were in the space (sort of like how we see pictures of rallies outside the Lincoln Monument and such.. ) and it was just awesome.. even cooler was that about 40 years after Hitler made that address on the balcony, John Paul II stepped up to the same exact spot and talked to the austrians about love and peace. AMAZING?! i think so. <3 so check out the pics, please. we went to lunch, where I can't believe I did.. but I was really hungry, and ate Schnitzel-which was nasty veal.. but the food here is slim to none on options.. so i'm forced to have my tastebuds pushed to the max.. we had free time for about 5 hours after that, so we just walked around and explored some.. grabbing some coffee/tea and cakes at classy establishments, hanging out with painted street performers, you know.. just chilling in Vienna! :)
But now it's time for dinner.. and i'm hungry.. for something that isn't baby cows :\ hahah miss you guys.. lots
thanks to everyone thats contacted me in any way just to say hello and such.. i really appreciate it!
love and prayers always,
Erin
